My philosophy
A poem by Franco Arminio reads:
Francesca
My wife’s heart
is a basket where cats sleep,
an oven where crostatas rise.
From the moment I read it on the train, while I was coming back from Turin, I immediately understood where my happiness resided. And like that poem, many other things in the years to come would remind me of it. Like a patient shadow that, following me, corrects my step, slows me down, and finally helps me find myself. One of those things was photography.
With photography, I tell simple, fragile, taken-for-granted things. I tell simple things because, today, they seem to be the most challenging to tell. Those things that require slowness, boredom, concentration, dedication, effort, time. Funny, it really does sound like a love story.
Photography is my work. I put in effort, passion, concentration, and a lot of energy. Photography is on par with any art, any job. Photography exists when a relationship is created between me and everything around me. The relationship must be healthy and sincere. I love connecting with people who share my values. If you are one of them, it will be a pleasure to meet you.
Thank you for reading.
